PEGGY PORSCHEN and its delicious cakes have been on our London to do list for a while now. Like most people, we found out about their incredible world through social media. With its iconic pastel pink entrance and amazing cakes it is indeed Instagram Heaven. Located at 116 Ebury St, Belgravia, just a few minutes walk from Victoria Station, this really is a gem in the heart of London.
PEGGY PORSCHEN STORY…
In 2003 award-winning cake designer and author, Peggy Porschen and her husband Bryn Morrow decided to take on this incredible business. This is where Peggy, Bryn and their super talented team started making edible works of art available for the public.
Since 2010, the Parlour in London's Belgravia has been offering visitors the chance to step through its beautiful fairytale pastel pink doors into a world of freshly baked delights everyday from 8am to 8pm.
Being such a hit, Peggy Porschen went on to open the academy in January 2011 where all levels of bakers can go and learn Peggy's top tips and secrets. Peggy even has respected Diploma Courses that people can complete.
The parlour gets redecorated regularly in themes to suit the different seasons or certain major events happening at the time. We were lucky to have visited during the Valentines theme!
The food is just out of this world! Everything is wonderfully presented, the cakes and cupcakes, the coffee, the house blend teas; and of course, all these served in pastel cups matching the beautiful surroundings. The whole experience from begging to end is picture perfect. But putting the looks aside, the cakes are unbelievably yummy, the service is ten out of ten and the staff is experienced and super friendly! You leave the place wanting to come back again and again!
The whole experience is so surreal, great vibe, happy people enjoying the exquisite cakes and always a handful of Instagrammers and bloggers trying to get the perfect photo!
No wonder some of England’s top celebrities have chosen Peggy as a favourite. Elton John, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Kate Moss and even the Royal Family are some names that have enjoyed this wonderful world of pink cakes.
